Our February 22 concert will be exceptionally exciting. Anthea Kreston, Jason Duckles, and Asya Gulua are very expressive musicians. Their Haydn Trio will illuminate Haydn’s genius. And the Ravel Trio, so difficult, presents so many opportunities for excitement.
Our March 8 concert is canceled, but now we can broadcast its replacement: on June 14, the Thunderegg Consort will play for us; you remember how superb they are. Anthea Kreston and Jason Duckles again, combine with Kenji Bunch and Monica Ohuchi. They are going on a concert tour, and we get to be part of their preparation. Lucky us!
In between these two blockbusters are fine concerts on April 19 and May 17. On April 19 we get to hear this year’s version of the Cherry City String Quartet: Salem high school students coached by Dan Rouslin. Some of last year’s members have graduated. I have heard the new quartet, and their quality continues the excellence we have admired in previous years.
On May 17 we will hear the Vista Piano Quartet. Cathy Heithaus, Karen Vincent, Jenny Gleason, and Brenda Wittberg are Salem musicians with years of good experience and quality music-making.
We are very pleased to be able to bring you these four stunning concerts!
