As Camerata’s vice president David Gortner moved back to California last summer, he left his chamber music library (playable parts) with us, with the wish that it be made available for chamber musicians in our area to borrow and play. This was 12 boxes, which spent several months cluttering up Noah Seitz’s studio. Recently, I brought them to my house to do a proper inventory. That is now complete. Some of it is not chamber music: violin and viola technical exercises, etc. Noah is going to take those to an orchestra rehearsal and tell the violinists and violists “Take what you want!” For the rest, if it is to be treated as a library, the best way would be to have an actual library take charge of it. – George Struble
