First, the May 17 concert of the Vista Piano Quartet is cancelled.  We hope it is just postponed until next season; we will keep you informed.  We are looking for a replacement ensemble to play on May 17 – Norwegian Independence Day! – but it’s possible the replacement will have to be on a different date.  Watch this space!

On April 19, the Cherry City String Quartet will play Beethoven’s String Quartet Op. 18 no. 4 and the Dvorak “American” Quartet.  The Beethoven Quartet Op. 18 no. 4 was actually the first published quartet that Beethoven wrote; it is already a masterwork.  And the Dvorak “American” Quartet is always immensely satisfying to listen to.  Coached so ably by Dan Rouslin, the Cherry City String Quartet is excellent, having replaced graduating members by younger musicians that uphold the tradition of excellence.

The April 19 program is completed by a piano trio of Matt Fuller, violin (and our webmaster!), Noah Seitz (where have we seen that name? 😇 ), and Crystal Zimmerman, playing a Trio by Germaine Tailleferre.  You will have to come listen to know what that’s all about; I don’t know any more than you do!
